Site set up
As the Logistics Contractor we could provide:
- Secure hoarding / fencing, type as required, suiting the phased construction of the works and the environment in which the works are being carried out.
- Site Security package (please refer to our Site Security Section of the web site)
- Suitable and secure compounds for the phased construction works.
- Wheel wash facility
- All temporary signage and barriers – the logistics team will change the signage during the construction process to suit all stages.
- Welfare facilities – provide adequate facilities for all the site operatives and the management team. A trained operative team will maintain the accommodation to the standards required.
Traffic Management
Trained and uniformed Traffic Marshals and required equipment will be in place to carry out and manage traffic, operative and public movement.
A Traffic management plan will be in place to ensure that all routes, lifting and distribution methods are in place and available to unload materials.
Coordinated Delivery schedules are paramount in ensuring materials are delivered in a just in time basis and in doing so maximise the material storage areas enabling the workforce to work in safer conditions. Traffic Marshals will undertake the following activities on site:
- Vehicle Scheduling – Sub Contractors will inform the Traffic Marshals of any site delivery requests. All material delivery requests are then approved by the Logistics Manager in line with the program and build process.
- Distribute delivery schedules to all trade contractors
- Maintain presence on allocated Gate / Vehicle Access Point
- Maintain and adapt as required all pedestrian barriers, signs and pedestrian routes
- Record arrival and departure times of all traffic
- Banking vehicles into / out of the site
- Ensure all delivery drivers are aware of site rules before entering the site
- Direct material deliveries to the correct hoist / unloading point
- Ensures the free flow of Third party traffic at all times
- Ensures the safety of the public at all times
- Maintain access roads/pedestrian walkways if weather forecast predict frost/ice conditions with rock salt
Fire Management
CCF provides and implements at the start of the project the “Project Fire Plan”. Trained Fire Marshals will monitor all tasks involving Hot Works to reduce the risk of any fire on site.
The Fire Marshals spend the majority of their time patrolling live areas.
Other duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Issue Hot Works permits
- Monitor Hot Works permits compliance
- Regular checks of areas with Hot Works and sign off
- Maintenance of fire points
- Ensure fire exits and escape routes are kept clear
- Ensuring general access/egress routes are kept clear
- Maintain and monitor fire signage requirements
- Action fire evacuation procedures
- Carry out periodic Fire Alarm tests to ensure the robustness of the Fire, Emergency and Evacuation plans during the construction period of the project
- Monitor gas usage and storage
- Fire hydrant inspections and maintenance schedules for all appliances are applicable

Site Nurse
CCF can provide sites with an innovative pro-active health service, enabling all site employees to access: Lifestyle check ups, health promotion and education, Occupational Health surveillance and quality care following incident / accident.
A Registered Site Nurse can be based on site on a weekly basis or when the number of people on site becomes a legal requirement to be there on a daily basis. The Site Nurse will undertake the following duties:
- Emergency response – on site medical assistance
- Staff Health Screening Checks
- Administer general first aid
- Update list of all site First Aiders
- Monitor stock of First Aid equipment and consumables
- Produce monthly reports of all Health Screening undertaken
- Life style checks, Blood pressure and Cholesterol, glucose testing available anytime
- Accurate patient records and accident reports are maintained
